ST. MICHAEL?S HOUSE PROVIDES A COMPREHENSIVE RANGE OF SERVICES TO
ADULTS AND CHILDREN WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES AND THEIR FAMILIES

We are currently recruiting a Service Manager (school support officer)
in our Children and Young Person (CYP)Division which supports over

services including residential, respite, home support, educational
support including special national schools, clinical service and
social and recreational supports.

We anticipate that many of these services will expand significantly
over the coming years as we implement the National Programme for
Progressing Disabilities and this post will provide the right
candidate with an opportunity to develop their career in education and
health services. .

Within St. Michael? House Staff are encouraged and supported to
engage in continuous training though the organisation?s Open Train
College and other accredited third level institutions.

St. Michael?s House is voluntary body and registered charity and is
funded by the HSE and Department of Education and Skills. As a Section

HSE Consolidated Pay Scale and have access to a state superannuated
pension, maternity and illness benefits.

CONTRACT

months and may be renewed.

of the HSE Consolidated Pay Scale.

* Working hours are flexible and will reflect school term time.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Director of Children's and Young People Services, the
successful candidate will have a unique role in CYP Division. Working
closely with CYP Director, School Boards of Management and Principals
they will have responsibility for the implementation of the Patron
role for six Special National Schools under the Patronage of St.
Michael?s House.

They will be responsible for ensuring that the schools are governed
and managed in accordance with best practice and the Department of
Education and Skills Procedures. This will include fulfilling the role
of Chairperson in some schools and pro-actively support voluntary
Chairpersons and school Principals in others.

THEY WILL ALSO BE AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE LEADERSHIP TEAM IN CYP AND
WILL ASSIST IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF SERVICES.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL;

* Have a proven track record in a leadership role in the Education,
Social Care or Health Care sector.
* Have a good working understanding, preferably in the education
sector, of service; governance, management and development
* Be capable of developing and sustaining positive relationships
with Chairpersons BOM, School Principal and families who use our
services.
* Have completed a recognised third level degree in Education,
Health & Social Care, Nursing or Management.
